Concert Review Royal Hunt

Royal Hunt @ The Rock, Copenhagen, february 22nd 2007

Wednesyday february 21st it was time to fly to Copenhagen Kastrup Airport to see the show from Danish Rockers Royal Hunt. My favourite band because I am running theire fan club website and forum together with Roy since 2 years now. Unfortunately Roy couldn't make it to join me to the concert, so I've decided to go with Danielle (my daughter).

I will won't borred you with all the details about Copenhagen and the heavy snowfalls there. Thursday it was "showtime". Danielle and I walked to the venue at 12.00 AM to see where the venue was located and that I didn't have to search the venue when we had the appoint with Michael (manager) at 16.30 PM.

When we arrived the great Mr. Andre Andersen was standing there to reload his equipment out of the van. And he asked me who I was? He didn't recognise me since april 2002 when I was at the Barcelona concert. I've told him who I was and a big smile came up. I've told him also that we've planned to back to the hotel first to have a lunch and rest a bit. Andre told me that the rest of the band was on the airport waiting for the rest of the equipment. I've had nightmares about the wheater conditions that day, that Royal Hunt couldn't leave Helsinki where they played the evening before. Luckally they've made it!

Danielle and I returned about 16.30 PM to The Rock and nobody was there. I've did what Michael (manager) told me to do. Go to the backstage entrence. Later one of the people from The Rock gave Danielle and me something to drink. Very nice! Good service :)

Circus Mind was support act and I did had an interview with them. They were very excited to play with one of their biggest influences. Because of the wheater conditions everybody arrived a little bit later than planned so the soundcheck started also later.

Circus Mind played at 22.00 PM till 22.45. And they sound really great! I love the music and I cannot wait till the first cd/demo comes out. The band will record it next month. Go to www.circusmind.dk for more information.

Royal Hunt started to play around 23.15 I think or maybe 15 minutes later. The show was better than I've expected. Since almost 5 years I saw my fave band again on stage! I thought It will be difficault to enjoyed the show and making photos at the same time, but really I can! :-) The band has lot of fun on stage and enjoyed it also very much. I saw that on theire faces :-) I think there were 250 people in the venue. I like the solo parts of Andre a lot during Martial Arts (instrumental). I am a keyboard fan and Andre is a superb musician. Kenneth (drummer) told me that they were very tired from the show the eveing before and the flight back to Copenhagen but I didn't noticed at all.

John is a great singer and I love his vocals, he has a very strong voice. Especcialy when he sing my faves Follow Me, The Mission, Far Away and Lies and Message to God. There was a suprise too because Allan (former drummer now Cornerstone) took sitting behind the drums and also Henrik Brockman (1st singer) joined the stage to sing: Wasted Time and also Kenny Lubcke (backing vocals came on stage). The crowd was very enthousiastic and they clapped and sing along the songs! Everybody enjoyed it!

It was an evening I don't forget. Even Danielle enjoined it and that means a lot!
